In Los Angeles, Alley Cat Rescue received information about a mother cat and her eight kittens from different litters who were struggling to survive. Fortunately, the rescue was able to rescue the entire family before they could be sent to a shelter.
Tangerine, a cute calico cat, was in dire need of assistance at less than one year old. According to Alley Cat Rescue, they had taken in a mother cat who had given birth to two sets of four kittens at different ages. However, the young mom was struggling to feed all eight of them and was spread thin while attempting to do so. Volunteers stepped in to help by supplementing the older kittens’ food so that Tangerine could focus on nursing her four demanding 10-day-old babies.
According to Alley Cat Rescue, the kittens were doing well for a few weeks until their mother ran out of milk. Since they had been receiving meals and support from the rescue team, it was not difficult to switch them to bottle-feeding. Despite the extra work, Tangerine the mother cat kept her kittens clean and was appreciative of the help. She even started spending more time with her caretakers and enjoying their affection.
Upon the caretakers’ arrival, Tangerine greeted them with joy and expressed her affection by purring. According to Alley Cat Rescue, Tangerine was an affectionate cat who craved attention. One of her kittens exhibited an impressive skill of eating his mother’s food at just three weeks old, while some kittens struggled to balance themselves on their feet.
I am constantly amazed by the intelligence of kittens. They seem to learn litter box manners in no time, groom themselves meticulously, play energetically with toys, and cuddle up for warmth. Cornbread, the smallest of the younger litter, required some extra care and attention to help him thrive. We kept a close eye on their weights and noticed that this little fella had stopped gaining weight entirely.
Despite being the same size as his bottle, Little Cornbread refused to be defined by it. He had a strong will and was determined to catch up with his siblings. After each feeding, Momma Tangerine would cheer him on and clean off his milkstache. Even though he was smaller, he was still able to hold his own when wrestling with his larger siblings.
The ginger kitten is growing well and becoming more beautiful every day. He has a very friendly personality and is always hungry. It’s adorable to see how excited he gets when it’s time for a meal. Although his siblings have started eating solid food, he still prefers his daily bottles. It’s hard to resist those big blue eyes of his!
Tangerine’s caretakers are now taking care of her babies while she enjoys her retirement from motherhood. She has been patiently waiting for the day when she can have all the attention to herself in a place where she can relax and be comfortable. This week, her dream finally came true as she was adopted and settled into her new home.
The feline is absolutely overjoyed to have reverted back to kittenhood and receive endless affection, enjoyment, and cuddles from her loving owners. According to Alley Cat Rescue, she now has a family that adores her and a new furry companion to spoil her rotten. This has truly been a fairytale ending for her, and she couldn’t be more content.
